The Captain’s Christmas

In our house, the tree is a cast net. Every December it comes off the hook and goes up, hung with coastal pieces that each carry a memory.

The tradition

A working tool, given a second job.

A cast net spends the year catching bait. In December it is hung from the ceiling, opened into a cone, and decorated with shells, sand dollars and the odd fishing lure.

It is a small family habit, but it says something we care about: the things the water gives us, and the tools we use on it, can carry meaning beyond their first purpose.

What this page is, and is not

A story first.

  • This is a family tradition, not a shop. We do not sell kits or ornaments.
  • No events are currently scheduled. Any future holiday gathering or support for a local cause will be announced here once plans are confirmed.
  • We look forward to sharing photographs of our family tree here.

Some traditions are worth keeping simply because they remind you where you are from.
